Skills Test

ANALYSIS: 

 

A type a skill that is needed very much in order to become a scientist. They need to draw conclusions from the 

 

data that has been found and is essential. 

 

ORGANIZATION: 

 

Scientists who are going to study many things need to have very high organizational skills so they can record 

 

records, new research, etc. They also need to use samples, and stay organised with their hypothesis and their 

 

observations when experimenting.

 

CONCENTRATION: 

 

A definite necessity to have, the scientists cannot have any disorders such as ADD or ADHD. They need to be 

 

able to focus for many hours, whether it's just 1 hour, or 20 hours.  And they need to have creative ideas, so 

 

they can still concentrate and they need to have an open mind.

COMMUNICATION: 

 

Scientists need to have communication with fellow scientists, nutritionists, etc. Many scientists think better 

 

when a variety of hypotheses are thrown at them so he/she can research them and observe them.

 

UNDERSTANDING: 

 

It's important for scientists to understand their own field of study. As fields of study become more specialized, 

 

it becomes more common for scientists to work in interdisciplinary teams. Communication within such a team 

 

is easier when the different members have an understanding of one another's fields.

 

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

 

Scientists need to have the necessary knowledge about the new and improved technologies. They need to 

 

know how to use different forms of Microsoft word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. They also need to know how the 

 

rocket actually to mars works because there may be a malfunction in something which could be easily fixed, if 

 

someone knew what was actually wrong.

THE DOCTOR:  

 

There is going to have to be a doctor with good medical skills so for example, someone breaks their leg doing 

 

physical research and they take a hard fall, someone needs to research how they will actually fix the broken 

 

leg, because they can't go home back to earth, it would take a long time to get back there. They as well as 

 

many scientists need many years of research before actually going to mars because of the health risk, like 

 

many scientists have researched there is high radiation levels, so they need to make sure that everyone is safe 

 

enough to go.

 

LANGUAGES: 

 

It is very important for scientists and astronauts going to space need to know another language. It is also very 

 

key to speak fluent English if you want to go to mars, the second language is Russian but it is just an asset, but 

 

not a requirement, you do need to speak another language whether it is English and Spanish, English and 

 

French etc.
