Physical Test

VISION REQUIRMENTS 

 

Special Agent applicants should possess uncorrected visual acuity no worse than 20/100 (Snellen chart) in 

 

each eye, with correction to 20/20 in one eye and at least 20/40 in the other eye. Candidates unable to 

 

meet the 20/100 minimum uncorrected acuity may be considered if they provide medical documentation of 

 

use of soft contact lenses for at least one year without significant problems or adverse effects.

 

Candidates must be able to see in colour and complete a full eye exam conducted by our optician.

HEARING REQUIRMENTS 

 

Special Agent applicants must take an audiometer test and meet specified hearing standards. Please note 

 

that no applicant will be considered who exceeds any of the following:

 

 Average hearing loss of 25 decibels (ANSI standards) at 1000, 2000, and 3000 Hertz

OVERALL NOTES

 

Overall physical standards:

 

 20/20 overall vision 

 

 Blood pressure: 130/80 measured in a sitting position.

 

 Height between 62 and 75 inches.

 

 18 - 40 years of age

 

 Must be able to complete the physical skills test (below)

TESTING FOR PHYSICAL SKILLS

 

 Run five miles with a 20 pound backpack with an oxygen restrictor

 

 Have to be able to swim 600 m in under 20 m

 

 Have to be able to calm yourself down after doing something stressful (e.g. lower heart rate)

 

 Must be able to do a multi access trainer

 

 Must be able to withstand 5-G of force

 

 Should be able to support his own body weight

 

 Hold their breath for 1 minute
